The Golden Foodie Awards was "created to honor extraordinary culinary talent." Their website states that it also "illuminates our local food scene and celebrates Independent and/or Chef driven Restaurants." Foodies were allowed to vote ahead of the awards gala in such categories as Golden Chef Award, Golden Pastry Chef Award and Best New Restaurant.
