Demetria McKinney is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Demetria McKinney opens up about her apology to Phaedra Parks and about her performance in Puerto Rico. Demetria writes:
These girls, these girls, these girls! My performance is approaching quickly and we've had nothing but shade, shadows, and pearl clutching the whole time! Really?! We are in Puerto Rico, why be so nasty and so rude?
I like to have my peace when in performance situations, so I had to get the negativity off of me. I went to Phaedra and apologized, but I want to be very clear as to what that meant. The whole exchange between me and her happened because when you are just getting to know someone, certain comments can't be said. Period. I said the 8 comment to let her know I like peace, but I have that fight. My apology was for the hurt that resulted from that comment, not for standing my ground and defending myself. I tried, yet again, to be classy and yet, my apology was not reciprocated. Do I feel she could have said, "I'm sorry too," sure. But at the end of the day, I went to her so that I felt right. I can't sit and wait for others to catch up. Are we cool? As long as the Belle doesn't get to ringing too loud again! LOL!
On to the next. I hate seeing the divide, but for me the line in the sand wasn't drawn due to looks, it was drawn due to mentality. Claudia said it perfectly, there is a double standard in the group. If I am offended, I'm too sensitive. If you are offended, I'm hitting below the belt. Kenya can be falsely called a whore, but when the tea may be true about someone else on the other "team," that's cause for silence and victim banners? Look, I don't know (or care) who's doing what with whom, but I do care that what's good for the goose is equally good for the gander. Hopefully we can get it together one day...
At the end of it all, my performance went great! Everyone seemed to enjoy it and that to me made it a success. For the record, I've never said the word pop in any capacity to these ladies! LOL! I'm not trying to be a pop star, I just want to do me and have people relate and enjoy. "100" shot to number 5 on iTunes, and my next single "Trade It All" is out on CD and will be on iTunes and other media outlets within the week! Even the commentary from the clique was awesome!
Phaedra: "She can blow."
Kandi: "Strong R&B artist"
Kenya: "Demetria is giving me Beyonce and Brat is giving Jay-Z! No shade, no tea!"
LMAO! I appreciate that despite our differences, we were able to keep it "100"! (Shameless plug, LOL!)
I'm living my dream and happy in my life. I hope everyone that's not in that same space finds a way to get there."
