Last week, Amber Marchese’s husband Jim revealed that the mass removed from her breast was confirmed as cancerous, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is now speaking out to fans for the first time.
Amber took to her Facebook to update everyone on her very emotional ordeal, explaining why she has yet to share more information. “I have not made a formal statement about my health because there are a lot of tests that need to occur before that happens,” she says. “I want to accurately inform all of you exactly what is going on so I do not create unnecessary fear or anxiety in anyone, especially to anyone who may be going through something similar.”
Previously saying that she would take on this second bout with breast cancer like “Superwoman,” Amber reiterated her commitment to staying strong. “This uncertain time is not ruffling my feathers,” she writes.
She also says again how she’s turning to her religion for solace during this difficult time. “When, naturally, I go to worry and fear, I go back into prayer,” she explains. “It is my armor and my sword. My faith is my joy, my happiness, and my peace.”
Amber understandably hasn’t been able to be as responsive as she’d like, but expressed how appreciative she is of all the love and support she’s been receiving. “I am so beyond grateful for all of your love, support, and prayer,” she says. “I DO read each and every single person’s message, DM, text, email to me.”
This will be the second time Amber will begin treatment for the disease after receiving a double mastectomy following a diagnosis six years ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with Amber and her family, we wish her well. #TeamAmber
