The third season of The Real Housewives of Melbourne started filming this week, and according to a new report, Grant Hackett's ex-wife Candice Alley, has been in talks with the show's producers to become a new cast member.
Alley is an Australian singer-songwriter of Australian/Italian descent, who has released two pop albums, Colorblind in 2003 and Candice Alley in 2007.
Alley has made recent headlines over the demise of her marriage to Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, who is most famous for winning the men's 1500 metres freestyle race at both the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and her campaign to join the Foxtel reality series is her latest bid for the spotlight to revive her music career, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
The 32-year-old, who shares five-year-old twins Jagger and Charlize with Hackett, was apparently "forced" to open up after Hackett's pool comeback, which thrust the couple's relationship back into the spotlight.
"It was new for me to read in newspapers that Grant said our marriage was one of those that was probably doomed to fail from the start, and that he wanted to leave," she told New Idea magazine.
"That was quite contrary to the way it was, at least through the first half of the marriage, he never indicated this once to me. There were plenty of beautiful times, especially having our children together."
Alley said she asked Hackett to leave their apartment.
"It was our fifth wedding anniversary when I told him to leave. How strange is that?" she said. "Grant tried to reconcile two weeks later, but I knew I never wanted to roll that dice again."
Her life seems very dramatic which translates perfectly in reality TV.
