Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan have been disputing their contracts with Bravo but according to a new report, their tactics backfired, as the network has reportedly demoted the ladies to a part time role in the next season of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Apparently it all started when the women were refusing to sign contracts unless they were paid almost as much as Bethenny Frankel, who’s reportedly making $1 million per season.
“They tried to power play Bravo,” said a source tells Page Six. “They tried to hold out for more money, and the network said, ‘Guess what? We’re not even going to give you a contract.’ ”
The publication claims that Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan will be on only “if they are necessary and it works in the context of their scene,” a source close to the Bravo show explained.
The site reports that both de Lesseps and Singer, who are now part-time, have done the pay-by-scene structure before and it actually worked out better for them. A source said the rate per scene is $20,000.
“They actually can make more money on [this] rate,” said the insider. Because “they don’t have to work six days a week, and they don’t have to go to events or go on vacations” that are filmed with the rest of the cast. Most of the stars have various side projects.
Frankel, Carole Radziwill and Dorinda Medley have all signed new contracts for full-time roles for the upcoming eighth season.
De Lesseps just moved into a new apartment, and apperently this year’s plot would involve her decorating it.
De Lesseps and Singer have been on “Housewives” since its first season in 2008, and Morgan joined in 2010 during the third season.
