After Phaedra Parks' husband Apollo Nida was sentenced to eight years in prison for bank fraud and identity theft, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star had no choice but to become a single parent and raise sons Ayden Nida and Dylan Nida.
Phaedra is opening up about the being a single parent and shares an update on her kids.
“It was sort of abrupt," Phaedra told The Daily Dish about helping her sons transition into life without their father at home. "It’s nothing you can ever effectively plan for because you don’t know what a child will require when something like that happens."
However, Phaedra has taken measures to ensure that her children remain as happy and healthy as possible during this difficult time. "Like any other parent, I decided that I would send them to therapy," Phaedra said. "When Apollo left, [Dylan] was only one year old right after his first birthday, so he didn’t have the actual connection that Ayden had because obviously Ayden is five now, so he was very aware of what was going on."
Parks reveals that her sons, Ayden and Dylan are doing well in the situation. "They’re doing fine," Phaedra shared. "It’s been a process, but they’re doing fine.”
