They're finally here! This Sunday, the ladies from The Real Housewives of Potomac will finally make their debut on Bravo. In the series premiere, at a birthday party celebrating Karen Huger, grande dame of Potomac high society comes for Gizelle Bryant, for her lack of manners. And as if that wasn’t enough, Gizelle is under fire from Charrisse Jackson Jordan, for acting not very lady like in her plush home.
International model Katie Rost, a divorced socialite with three toddlers, is doing everything in her power to get her boyfriend to put a ring on it. Meanwhile, Robyn Dixon, who lives with her ex-husband, former NBA star Juan Dixon, must decide if she wants to rekindle her relationship with her ex.
In this sneak peek from the first episode, Karen schools Gizelle on the do's and don'ts of attending a birthday party. Not letting the birthday girl sit in the center of the table is a big no-no, especially when it's Karen's special day. "You're not the honoree. I'm the birthday girl. You were in the center of my table, sitting there like, 'OK, it's my birhtday!'" Karen points out to Gizelle.
But in case she doesn't get the message, Karen gives her "a lovely gift" of the five rules of etiquette when attending a birthday party, framed and all. "I don't have a problem with Gizelle. I actually like her, but she's irritating," Karen explains. "As her friend, it's my responsibility if she doesn't know any better to teach her better."
Included in Karen's golden nuggets of wisdom are the commandments that the host should always be in charge and to never order your food before the birthday honoree arrives. "Karen, you don't have to school me on etiquette," Gizelle says in her defense. "I didn't come from the cabbage patch. I have a legacy and a pedigree. You grew up on a farm."
Robyn Dixon and her ex-husband Juan Dixon are no longer married. However, in the next sneak peek, Robyn reveals that she and her ex Juan still live together, raise their kids together, and, yes, even sleep in the same bed. And being the true bestie that she is, Robyn's BFF Gizelle Bryant advises her pal that if Juan wants to see other ladies in this living arrangement, he's got to go.
"Juan and Robyn have been together four or five thousand years. Juan ain't going nowhere. We tried to get rid of Juan. Where'd he go? He went outside to the mailbox and he came back," Gizelle jokes. But, what Juan doesn't find so funny is the fact that his ex-wife's conversation is happening while she wearing her wedding dress.
