Last year, we reported that Foxtel was expanding the Real Housewives franchise in Australia in hopes of adding Sydney or Gold Coast to the hit reality franchise line up. Last October, we reported that Real Housewives of Melbourne producers were scouting women to possibly join The Real Housewives of Sydney. While a few socialites were in talks, looks the casting is still underway for the Sydney installment.

According to The Daily Telegraph via The Daily Mail, Skye Leckie (pictured below) leads a number of formidable women at the top of the list for producers, who have been meeting with a number of ladies over lunch in the posh suburb of Woollahra.

The wife of former Seven Network boss David Leckie, appeared to confirm the news when contacted by the publication, saying: "I've heard I've been on the list since day one but I don’t know, you've caught me unawares."

Another among the highly likely cast mates is Christa Billich, married to artist Charles Billich (pictured below), is also besties with Real Housewives of Melbourne star Gamble Breaux. As a result, Christa has already appeared a number of times on the Melbourne series as guests.

"I would love to do it because I think I can show my other side," Christa told the publication. "People think I’m gentle and soft but I do have a side of me that is perfect for the Housewives. As we know, b****es are made, not born, and I can be a b****," she added.

Matty Samaei (pictured above), cosmetic beauty therapist and TV personality, who is the beauty adviser and a judge for the Miss Universe Australia pageant, is also among contenders. The Sydney Morning Herald first reported on Matty's screen tests last October, which Daily Mail Australia understands are still on-going with no contracts given out as yet by Foxtel.

Other names believed to be contenders for a spot on the upcoming series including model-turned-business woman Michelle Walsh (pictured above), who ran online kid's clothing company Mrs Walsh, which was relaunched as a lifestyle blog in 2010. Michelle is married to Martin Walsh, who runs Chadwicks Management - a company that represents some of the biggest names in modelling including Rachel Hunter and Jessica Hart.

Ex-wife of TV journalist Mike Willesee, Gordana Willesee-Poljak (pictured above), a make-up and tattoo artist has also confirmed she was speaking to producers and is believed to be a favorite. “I’m considering it,” Willesee-Poljak said. “If the opportunity has come to me, it has come to me for a reason and I think it could be a fantastic random opportunity to help me live an even straighter life because I’ll be on show.”

Other contenders include Lisa Oldfield, wife of former One Nation politician, David, hairdresser Jo Bailey’s business partner Marilyn Koch, as well as Double Bay boutique owner and former model Amanda Cameron and publicist turned business woman Kirsten Carriol. It's not yet certain whether former WAG Nation starlet Terry Biviano will be among the mix.

Suggestions of a Gold Coast version are believed to have been put on hold with Sydney a priority to be on air in the new year.
