This season of The Real Housewives of Dallas hasn't been easy for Brandi Redmond. Her marriage to Bryan Redmond became increasingly strained as his busy work schedule kept him away from his wife and kids for days on end.
Then, Brandi confronted Bryan about this during what was supposed to be a chance for the couple to reconnect during a dinner date, however he stormed out of the restaurant. In that moment, Brandi revealed told People that she "was at a point where I felt like I needed him, especially with everything else going on in my life, I needed more from him."
Brandi wasn't the only one who was taken aback by Bryan's behavior in that instant. The RHOD hubby has also encountered backlash from fans.
"It's hard on him," Brandi said. "I mean, we've been out to eat and people literally come up and call him an ***hole! In front of our little girls!"
However, Bryan has since apologized to Brandi for how he reacted. "
He's been struggling with it but we know at the end of the day that it's the way he handled something and he agrees that it was wrong," she added. "I think as long as we are willing to forgive and try to forget after this is all over with, then we can just move forward."
These days, Brandi and Bryan have learned to "really communicate more" after filming this season of RHOD. Brandi also told People that she knows "how much he loves us and cares about us" and praised Bryan for being "an amazing father" and "an amazing provider."
"I think that's what the viewers don't get to see – they don't get to see that side of him, that side that makes me laugh," she said. "He really is so kind and so genuine and we all make mistakes, we all go through things, and I think if anything this taught us more about each other."
Brandi admitted that she and Bryan "still have our bickering, just like any other couple," but their relationship is in a good place these days.
Even with the criticism she and Bryan have experienced, Brandi said she doesn't regret putting her marriage under a microscope this season of RHOD.
"I'm proud of what was captured in our journey. I think that it made us authentic, and I think it's encouraging for other people to see that not everybody's perfect and we all have ups and downs," she said. "And at the end of the day, I'm such a fighter – I'll fight for my family, my marriage and my friendships."
