Shannon and David Beador's troubled marriage has been the focal point in their storyline for the past two seasons on The Real Housewives of Orange County. It was revealed last season that Beador's husband David had an affair, now the Bravo reality star is admitting that the show has actually helped them work through their marital issues.
"I have to say that this season is one of new beginnings for my marriage," Shannon told People at the RHOC Premiere Party and 10 Year Celebration event in Los Angeles on Thursday. "I think you see it in a teaser. I mean, my husband has blown me away this season so it's been amazing."
The couple, who have been trying to move forward with their marriage since the infidelity revelation, have experienced some bumps along the way.
In October 2015, during a taping of What Happens Live! with host Andy Cohen, Beador admitted that her husband was "ready to leave me."
Though the reality star explained that sharing her life with viewers can sometimes be "uncomfortable," there are benefits.
"I'm not into that sort of thing, but for me it's actually helped my marriage, my family, and me being able to watch back little parts of my life, and realizing where I need to make changes and where I need to improve because you have someone very often capturing what's going on in your life and they pretty much edit me accurately," she admitted. "You're never going to hear me – well at least so far – say, 'Hey! It's all editing!' No, that's me – for good or for bad."
