Robyn Dixon is opening about her first experience on reality television and how much has being part of The Real Housewives of Potomac impacted her life. During a recent interview with Black Enterprise, the mother and PR extraordinaire dishes on first season and more.

"When we were filming the show, we didn’t know that our show was going to be a Real Housewives show, admitted Dixon. "In filming the show, the working title for it was the Potomac Ensemble, six women in our daily lives interacting with other women. It felt somewhat like a Housewives show—it kind of followed the same formula, but they did not tell us what it was."

She continued: "It wasn’t until early November that we all had a conference call with the production company and they tell us, ‘Congratulations, Bravo loves you ladies and they want you to be The Real Housewives of Potomac. You will premiere in January and we will be making the announcement today.’ We were all stunned!"

Robyn says it's surreal seeing herself on TV.

"They send us the episodes about two days before so that you can write a blog response on Bravo. Watching myself on TV is very strange… I find myself saying, I should have said this, or I should have done that. Then you see what people are saying behind your back, and you are like oh, if I ‘d known she said this, then I would’ve checked her differently! But that is what the reunion is for, when you get to the reunion you are able to have a more open dialog and really address things. It’s surreal to see myself on TV."

Robyn hopes fans identified with her story during the first season of RHOP.

"I just want people to know that I have been through a lot personally with my ex-husband and our relationship and finances, and it’s OK to not be perfect. You don’t have to live that perfect life, and you don’t have to be ashamed of making mistakes and stumbling or messing up. I really hope people can draw strength from that because I know people are going, have gone, or will go through something."

The Real Housewives of Potomac is currently filming Season 2 and is set to return later this fall on Bravo.
