During the season 7 premiere episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice started working on mending her strained relationship with Jacqueline Laurita before being released by prison by sending her a note via her attorney James J. Leonard Jr.
However, it didn't exactly receive a warm reception from Jacqueline, who read it aloud in a voice that seemed to mimic Teresa's and make fun of her note.
Many fans wondered why Jacqueline shed tears over Teresa having to serve time in prison but then she didn't seem to take her extension of an olive branch seriously. But Jacqueline explained her seemingly disingenuous reaction was the result of feeling like Teresa was not being genuine with her.
"Teresa and I have a 13-year history together, so we'd had this roller coaster relationship. When we left off when I left the show, we had agreed to move forward in the friendship. When the cameras were off, she wanted nothing to do with me. She publicly said, 'I'm not interested in the friendship. I don't miss it.' I moved on from then," she told Andy Cohen during Sunday's episode of Watch What Happens Live. "So when she reached out to me two weeks before we started filming and two weeks before she got out of prison, I took it not sincere. I was like, 'This is for TV. I don't feel like it's sincere, but we'll see.'"
Jacqueline went on to say that she would give Teresa a chance if it seemed like she truly wanted to be friends again. "I'm always open to a relationship if it's genuine," she said. "I'm not interested in TV friends, so my wall was up."
Meanwhile, Jacqueline also gave an update on another relationship that she has problems with in the past and that's her sister-in-law Dina Manzo.
"Well, Dina, I saw her about two years ago. She came over for Thanksgiving. I saw her [on] Christmas. And we haven't been in touch — well, actually, she reached out to me not that long ago. We're peaceful," Jacqueline said of her husband Chris' sister. "But she lives in California now."
