The divorce drama between Keshia Knight Pulliam and former Real Housewives of Atlanta hubby Ed Hartwell continues to get messy. According to a new report, former The Cosby Show actress, who is five months pregnant, has filed court documents accusing her estranged husband of 'cruel treatment,' according to TMZ.
Keshia claims in court docs that Hartwell, 'has been plotting to harm and obstruct [her] pregnancy' by engaging in 'certain underhanded and unusual conduct' aimed at triggering a miscarriage.
TMZ, which has seen the legal papers, reported that Knight Pulliam provides no specific details of what Hartwell is alleged to have done.
However, she is asking a judge to order a mental evaluation of the former NFL pro, whom she wed on New Year's Day after four months of dating.
Knight Pulliam also wants the court to rule that all firearms owned by the couple are handed over to the actress, TMZ reported, and that Hartwell, who was previously married to real Housewives Of Atlanta star Lisa Wu, be told to stay away from her.
The site adds that Knight Pulliam has accused her ex hubby of being verbally abusive towards her during their short marriage and claimed he had had affairs with several women.
Hartwell filed for divorce on July 25, just one week after Knight Pulliam had announced her pregnancy news via Instagram.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Knight Pulliam said she was given no warning and was blindsided when Hartwell, told her he had filed for divorce.
"Early on in my marriage when I was faced with this, I was ready to leave. It's not OK," Keshia told ET. "In the process, I found out I was pregnant. And I had to take another hard look and decide if I wanted to try to work through this and forgive him for the sake of the child. Like, I had divorce papers ready. I presented it to him. ... Once I was pregnant I did decide to give him that one last chance."
"The part that hurt me the most when he filed for divorce was that he had asked me to give him another chance, and I was willing to do that and forgive him, for our family," she claims.
Knight Pulliam says that having children was always a plan for the both of them. However, Ed Hartwell is saying something totally different.
“She wanted a baby really fast, and what I was trying to explain to her was that — from my beliefs, from seeing other successful people — that when you first get married, especially since we didn’t have a long courtship, that we should actually focus on each other and not just have a baby. That’s something she really did want to do,” he told Page Six TV last month.
“I said, ‘I think we probably messed up. I think we moved too fast,'” he said, “‘Our lives and wants are headed two different directions.'”
Hartwell confessed that his ex, whom he dated for four years, had “lost a baby” and it made him realize he still “cared about her.” The former NFL pro claimed that Pulliam was so upset after Hartwell’s admission that she virtually disappeared from his life.
“[Knight Pulliam] wasn’t mad that I still cared about her,” Hartwell said. “All she was a mad about was, ‘You don’t want to have a baby, but you’re mad about her baby. You can’t talk to her 13-year-old daughter. And there was a big fall-out.”
Hartwell added that his wife fled to visit a spiritualist and “started going out with friends all the time and not telling me when she was coming home or sometimes not coming home at all.”
After the confrontation, Hartwell says Knight Pulliam was willing to have a baby by any means possible, through in vitro, adoption or naturally.
“What I learned about her is that if she wants something, she wants it now and she’s going to go get it. That’s one of the reasons we actually stopped having sex,” he said.
