The Real Housewives of Melbourne are currently on hiatus in Australia as The Real Housewives of Syndey is underway, which filming starts in a few weeks. Both series as well as New Zealand's installment, The Real Housewives of Auckland share the same production company, Matchbox Pictures.
The fourth season of RHOMelbourne has yet to be announced, prompting rumors of a cancellations in Australia. However, back in June, Gina Liano confirmed that the show will "definitely" be back, but didn't reveal which cast members would be returing.
"Definitely there will be a season four," she told The Sydney Morning Herald. "Who comes back, I don't know."
Despite being on hiatus in Australia, the series is proving to be a major success with American audiences, the show is currently airing Season 3 on Bravo.
The Daily Mail reports that the show earned its second highest ratings score ever in America. Fan favorite, Gina Liano shared the happy news via her Instagram page to celebrate.
"Great news... RHOM New time slot and the ratings are up in the USA. Thanks Bravo xxx. Thanks to everyone who tuned in. Hope you enjoyed the madness xxx," the 50-year-old barrister wrote.
Last week, Bravo aired RHOMelbourne twice. The series time slot is on aFriday nights at 9pm, however the network decided to air it on a special time, Wednesday night at 10pm, right after The Real Housewives of New York City, which the ladies of the Big Apple have been dominating television ratings this season.
Following after RHONY ladies worked in Aussie Housewives' favor since their ratings also increased.
The following TV ratings report is courtesy via LA Late:
"RHOMelbourne this season has been posting about a .233 ratings share, a fall of nearly 50% from season two numbers. In fact, RHOMelbourne has yet to break a .317 ratings share this season, until last night, compared to season two when RHOMelbourne averaged a .411 ratings share.
So what happened last night? In a jaw dropping turn of events, RHOMelbourne posted its second highest US ratings, ever. The show finished top 50 in US Basic Cable, number .49, with a .477 ratings share and .16 P18-49. RHOMelbourne’s episode last night was the second most watched RHOMelbourne episode in the US ever, after Season 2’s debut which posted a .534."
That's not all. The Real Housewives of Melbourne will finally be making their Canadian debut for the very first time, the show's first season will premiere on Tuesday, August 30 at 9:00pm ET on Slice.
I really hope that we get some news regarding soon regarding Season 4. I'm sure they will get renewed for a fourth season because last season it was the series' highest rated season ever in Australia and the show continues to dominate globally in America, New Zealand, UK and starting next week, in Canada.
