To say that Luann de Lesseps' relationship with Thomas D'Agostino Jr. has been a dramatic topic of conversation on The Real Housewives of New York City is an understatement. On the season eight finale episode, Bethenny Frankel presented photographic proof that Luann's fiancé, Tom D'Agostino, Jr., kissed another woman at the Regency Hotel in New York.
During a recent interview, Tom is finally addressing to all the drama he found himself in this season. The couple recently sat down with The Insider, and Tom addressed those cheating rumors first and foremost. "Yeah, I made a mistake, and I feel awful about it," he admitted (clip below). "If I could take it back, I would. I love Luann tremendously."
Though Luann was just as devastated to hear about the news of Tom's indiscretion as she seemed on RHONY, she has since forgiven him, and the two are still set to marry in front of 250 guests in Palm Beach, Florida on New Year's Eve. "It was awful. It was awful to find out that way. It felt like my earth was completely blown apart because I love Tom," she told The Insider. "And I feel like people in life, they make mistakes. It was a kiss in a public place. I mean, if he was trying to hide, would he be sitting in public, correct?"
Tom and Luann both denied that Sonja Morgan had a relationship and were more than just friends, as she has said this season of RHONY. Tom, who has also been linked to Ramona Singer, refuted claims that he has dated some of the RHONY cast members just to become famous. "This is my first interview talking about these things on national TV. I'm a pretty private person," he said.
In fact, Tom didn't want to be a part of the RHONY-verse at all. "He didn't really want to be on the show. He didn't want to be on the show, but we got engaged, so here we are," Luann explained.
Tom then added, "I did it to support Luann."
Tom has also caused a lot of conflict between Luann and Bethenny Frankel, who initially dropped the bombshell about her fiancé's infidelity. That's only going to continue during this season's reunion, the first part of which aired Wednesday night. "In the reunion, there's a lot of controversy and drama and Bethenny and I hash it out," Luann told The Insider. "Bethenny can think what she wants to think. I don't judge her and her relationships, so who should she be to judge mine?"
