According to a new report, a source close to Bravo is claiming that the current cast of The Real Housewives of New York City are demanding a pay raise for the next season after Bethenny Frankel was offered a huge raise.
“There is the usual back-stabbing, claw-digging and nastiness,” since all the women want as much as Bethenny, “who’s been deemed reliable reality TV . . . She is controlled chaos,” a source told Page Six.
A source said the Skinnygirl mogul is looking to get up to $1.5 million for her return for season nine. But an insider countered: “Based on Bethenny’s previous deals, that figure seems to be very low.”
Another source said that the rest of the cast members are looking to get about $400,000 each.
Another source said that the other cast members could get about $400,000. “They just can’t pay everyone $1 million — they can’t afford that,” the source said.
There is speculation that they may transplant a star from the higher rated Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, however a source close to Bravo denied it to Page Six.
The publication reported last year that several of the RHONY cast, including Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer, tried to play hardball with Bravo for more money but it backfired with the ladies' roles being reduced to part-time, however despite the report the ladies returned in their full-time roles.
Sources say Countess Luann de Lesseps may not return for the next season.
