Press Release: Lea and Roy Black hosted The Blacks’ Annual Gala Saturday night benefiting The Consequences Charity and their programs with Teach for America, Breakthrough Miami and Big Dreams for Kids among others. The city’s most prestigious, star-studded charity event returned for its 19th year beginning with red carpet arrivals followed by a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, both silent and live auctions as well as superstar performances by Taylor Hicks and Flo Rida. Guests ended the night dancing to the beats of DJ Trouble and Whi5ker5 with the Illbots.
Celebrity guests in attendance included Lea & Roy Black, Real Housewives of Miami; Gabrielle Anwar, Burn Notice; Lance Bass, pop singer formerly with N’Sync; Helio Castroneves, three-time IndyCar Racing Champion; Jonathan Cheban, reality show star; Bernard Hopkins, Middleweight Champion of the World; Lisa & Lenny Hochstein, Real Housewives of Miami; Joanna Krupa and Romain Zago, Real Housewives of Miami; Karent Sierra, Real Housewives of Miami; Sammy Sosa, baseball legend; Inés Rivero, supermodel; Dennis Rodman, basketball icon; Elaine Lancaster; Sofia Milos, actress; and others.
“This years gala was one of our best! The performances were over the top. We are very grateful to the guests for their support of a cause that benefits so many teens that have so little,” said Lea.
