Brynee Baylor made several appearances throughout the first season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. While not an official cast member, she was introduced as Charrisse Jackson Jordan's close friend. She was the least dramatic one of the group, however it looks like she has her plate full recently due to a federal indictment.

According to Washington City Paper, a federal grand jury indicted her last week on tax, securities fraud, and obstruction of justice charges. The indictment alleges that from 2010 to 2012 Baylor helped dupe investors in her role as an attorney into investing in a bogus scheme. Baylor couldn't be reached for comment on the charges.

Baylor's alleged plan, which she purportedly arranged with alleged fraudster Frank Pavlico III, promised would-be investors a whopping 250 percent return on investment within just 90 days. Instead, prosecutors allege, Baylor helped Pavlico make off with the money—including with a $75,000 transfer to a Jaguar dealership.

Pavlico committed suicide in 2012. Meanwhile, Baylor allegedly compounded her problems by lying to SEC investigators.

Baylor's alleged role in fraud isn't new. In 2013, she was ordered to pay almost $3 million as the result of an SEC investigation, and she was disbarred in 2015. As the target of a federal investigation, though, she could face as many as 20 years in prison.
