Gina Liano has no problem telling it like it is and standing up for what she feels is right. According to a new report, The Real Housewives of Melbourne star is considering a career in politics in the near future.
The 50-year-old glamours barrister reveals she would be more than qualified for the job, with her extensive experience in law and public profile.
"I suppose there are not a lot of people who have a public profile, who have entertained, who have that qualification (law) and have had the experience I have had in child protection and prosecuting for the last 17 years now," she told The Herald Sun.
Gina says she has been encouraged to pursue a political career by friends for some time, and that it’s a question she is asked often.
The mother-of-two says she would want to enter into federal politics as an independent, and only if she thought she could do it better than anyone else.
"Not that I necessarily could, but I would have to feel that I could," she explained.
Some of her pet issues included allowing animals to fly domestically, having faced issues transporting her puppies around the country with her.
The barrister also brought up marriage equality and reducing homelessness as things she considered worthy causes.
Gina explained she was not against larger developments but would like to see some of that investment money used for homes for the homeless.
Despite her seemingly well thought through policies and strategy, Gina insists her political career is "just a thought" for now.
