Nearly a decade after they divorced, Bob Whitfield has been been making some moves to try to win his ex,
Shereé Whitfield over. But The Real Housewives of Atlanta star explains why she's not ready to move him out of the friend zone, yet.
"You know, I'm actually loving where we are now. I wish we could have been in this space years ago. I think it would have been so beneficial for our family. And definitely for our kids seeing a positive environment with their mom and dad," Shereé told The Daily Dish about being on better terms with the former football pro. "But I'm loving it right now."
Though, she isn't exactly shocked that he feels that way about her. "I am not surprised because I am a really great woman, a real catch and sometimes people don't realize what they have until they no longer have it," she added.
Together the couple has two kids, Kairo and Kaleigh. Still, Shereé is playing coy about what's next for her and their father. "You'll see it play out in the season. Bob is, he's fun and that's one of the things that I fell in love with him about," she said. "But at the end of the day, so much happened and transpired in our relationship previously that I feel like we need to work on why those things happened and move forward and we need to address a lot of things. And it's just all fun for him right now. Everything's either sex or a joke where he can't be serious, so he's got to step it up."
As we saw following Kairo's DUI, Shereé and Bob took on different roles in parenting their kids and the Atlanta mom admits she's the stricter of the two. "I'm there all the time," she said, adding that because he's around less he appears more "fun."
Shereé revealed she is currently dating, and shared whether a man other than Bob could steal her heart. "I am dating," she said. "I am dating; no one has [my heart] totally. I'm still on the market, looking. Just enjoying life."
"I think I've always been kind of looking for the same thing, maybe a few things may have changed. I've always wanted a great guy who's family oriented, god fearing, honest," she said. "I need someone who can communicate. And that was the problem with Bob and I. I think we talked so much before we got married, but once we got married the communication was like cut off. So definitely someone who communicates, makes me laugh."
