This hasn't been the best year for Alexia Echevarria. Not only did the former Real Housewives of Miami star lose Herman Echevarria, her estranged husband and business partner, to a heart attack in September, but it's been reported that she just got hit with a huge tax lien for unpaid federal taxes.
According to Miami-Dade County records, the IRS has placed a lien on Echevarria’s North Shore Drive house in Miami Beach to make sure she does pay, reports The Miami Herald.
According to court documents, the couple owes $142,811.31 in unpaid income taxes for 2014. Although they were estranged for more than a year, Alexia and Herman worked in the same office for 15 years and ran several businesses together, including Venue Magazine.
In September, he was found dead in his condo after he suffered a massive heart attack.
It’s not the first time, meanwhile, that Alexia — who was on “RHOM” for all its three seasons — has had to deal with a huge tax debt.
According to the publication, the IRS placed another lien back in 2012 on the house over about $94,000 in unpaid levy. It took the couple two years to pay up and clear the lien.
