Last week, Erika Girardi made her debut on the successful CBS soap, The Young and the Restless in a guest role along with fellow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Eileen Davidson. Now, the Emmy award winning soap actress, Davidson dishes on what it was like to work with Erika in a different setting, and what surprised her most about the experience.
"It was really fun," Eileen told CBS.com about working with Erika on Y&R. "From the moment I thought about doing this, I thought Erika would be good, and she was. She was terrific ... It meant a lot to her. She grew up watching [soaps], and they've always been important for her and her mom and grandma, so this was a cool gift. I gave it to her for her birthday."
Eileen said she was happy to see Erika thrive in a different setting and become invested in her character. At one point, Erika even felt confident enough to vocalize her vision with the director.
"I loved the fact that she felt strongly enough about her character and her performance that she could say something [to the director]," Eileen said. "That just tells you she's a professional. She's been doing her own thing and taking care of her own business for a long time."
As seen in the season seven premiere episode of RHOBH, Davidson presented Girardi with the ultimate gift during her 45th birthday celebration: an opportunity to make a guest appearance on Y&R!
On Thursday, December 15, Erika made her debut on Geona City, and played Farrah Dubose, "a no-nonsense businesswoman who interacts with the town's movers and shakers, including Ashley Abbott," who is played by Davidson on Y&R.
In the clip above, Davidson (Ashley) accidentally runs into Farrah (Girardi) … literally. After Davidson’s hot coffee spills all over Girardi’s white, custom couture blazer, the two exchange some not-so-nice words, but eventually go their separate ways.
