Recap: Hollywood Exes Season 2 - Episode 2

Back in LA Jessica meets with Mayte about her adoption plans. Jessica is concern if Mayte is ready to be a single mother. Jessica gives Mayte a book which is basically how to raise a baby being a single mom. Jessica tells Mayte about the every day challenges and struggles of being a single mother. Mayte is turned off as states she is not asking for any type of help. I believe Jessica means well however I think the way she came across came off slightly passive-aggressive.

Drea talks to her friend and assistant Tony about what other type of work she can due while her broken foot heals. Drea adds she needs to do something fast since her has dancers and nannies to pay. Drea says she wants to be more than R. Kelly’s ex wife and how she wants to show a great example to her kids by going after what you want to do on your own merits.

Next Mayte and Drea go shopping and Mayte tells Drea her dinner conversation she had with Jessica regarding her adoption news. Drea says Jessica needs to worry about her own single motherhood life and goes on saying “Check your single mom email!” Mayte tells Drea that she thinks Jessica came to her solely out of concern however Drea has had enough of Jessica and goes on telling Mayte that she needs to tell Jessica that her concern was offensive.

Back in Sacramento, Nicole her mom and her brother Nathan drive through their old neighborhood where they grew up. Nicole says she shares many fond memories and even though her family struggled as they didn’t have much she had a great childhood.

Meanwhile back in LA, Jessica invites Jose over for Josie’s birthday so they can celebrate as a family. Somehow in the conversation leads to the topic of love and soul mates. Josie reveals she knows somehow about love and Jose shares with Josie that love hurts especially when it’s true love and your soul mates as he looks to Jessica. It’s clear that Jose and Jessica are still in love, you can see it in their eyes. Josie tells her parents how she has a crush on a boy in her school and he’s an athlete and African American. Jose quickly responds “just like your mother!’. Jessica reveals her and her daughter see no color and that she has dated black men before. Jessica also reveals the age of her boyfriend who is in his late 50’s and doesn’t believe in love anymore. Jessica tells Jose about her new clothing line she is working on and she models pieces of her clothing line to him. Her clothing line is metal mesh and basically you can see right through them. I still find Jose Canseco very hot! Am I alone on this?

Next Sheree, Mayte and Drea go out to dinner and the topic of the night is Jessica! Drea explains to the ladies how she is still not feeling Jessica and she doesn’t consider her a real friend. She thinks Jessica is insincere an just wants her to be real. Drea fills them in on the Twitter drama and Sheree encourages her to address it directly with Jessica and I agree with Sheree.

Nicole is back in town and invites all the ladies for some retail therapy. All the ladies arrive to shop and Jessica arrives and quickly annoys Drea. Drea finds this opportunity to confront Jessica and they talk about their issues. Drea tells Jessica how offended she was with her tweets. Jessica says she might offend her again as that’s how Jessica is, but tells Drea to call her on it when it happens. Jessica asks Drea if she’s willing to put the Twitter drama in the past and move forward and Drea agrees. Drea then says in her interview she can move forward but she won’t trust Jessica.

Next Mayte gets a phone call from her lawyer telling her that the baby’s birth mother has signed the adoption papers. Which makes it official! Mayte can now pick up her new daughter! As reality sinks in Mayte shares the news to her mother Nelly, who decides to support her daughter's decision and be there for her. Next week we see Mayte introducing her daughter to all of her friends! I’m so happy for her I can’t wait for Sunday!
