Melissa Gorga is taking to her Bravo Blog to dish on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Melissa explains why she shared the gossip she heard from Amber with the twins. Melissa writes:
"Hi everyone!
The Gorgas are going green! I'm excited for you to see how the "garbage business" unfolds. Let me start off by saying that Joe is first and foremost a real estate developer and continues to be one. He owns many buildings throughout New Jersey, and thank God real estate is booming again. Building will always be his "first love," but when an opportunity came to him to invest in this type of cutting-edge technology at the ground floor, he went for it. I wish he would have spoken to me first and told me he was going to invest so much money, but he's never steered this family wrong and I trust him. Is it nerve racking? YES! And sometimes you get burned, which we have, but if you don't take risks in life, you may never get to experience those great successes. That's how we have always lived and always will. Nothing was ever handed to either of us and we are OK with that. We like working hard, and at the end of the day, it's all for our kids.
So as for the company we invested in. It's actually not a sanitation or garbage business. It's a technology company that uses advanced plasma technology to convert waste into energy. The truck you saw is just a small part of the overall business. It transports various materials such as sensitive government documents and medical waste to our plasma facilities where they convert waste into energy. The waste goes through a huge chamber, which heats the materials at a temperature hotter than the sun, breaking it down in to gas. We then convert that gas into energy! It's very cool and green! In the near future there will be no more landfills contaminating our soil and polluting the air. It will all be thanks to plasma technology! I'm excited that you'll get to see the actual plasma facility and more of what we are doing with the technology this season.
I'm happy Amber and I were trying to get to know each other again, but at our dinner she couldn't stop bringing up the fact that she had cancer and I didn't know. I was trying my hardest to explain to her that if I knew I would have called. It just seems like she knows we both had "life" happen and didn't stay in touch (neither of us called in years), but I'm willing to accept my part and I'm not sure if she is.
There was a lot that occurred before the twins and I went shopping together. I had heard that Amber had been saying negative things about me behind my back, which the twins then confirmed. I couldn't understand why Amber would want to come back into my life and then start spreading rumors about me.
After Amber introduced me to her good friends, the twins, and then immediately seemed to have a lot of negative things to say about them, I started to realize that maybe Amber has changed. She told me on the way to my sister-in-law's party that Nicole had broken a family, and it was weighing on my mind.
A "home wrecker" is not a cool label to have hanging over you, especially if it's not true. I've been in this situation where people have labeled me with words that were untrue, so I didn't want to be part of doing it to someone else.
After going to Teresa's dessert party and having Dina tell me that she was very skeptical about Amber and her emotions, I started to be too. Yes we spent Saturday nights going out together in our 20s, but I didn't know Amber now. I always thought she was a good person, but having her come around and start saying lies about me made me think that maybe what she said about Nicole may not be true either.
After hearing from the twins at the boutique that Amber had a lot of bad things to say about me and hearing them say Jim had a lot of negative things to say about my family (my husband and my brother-in-law), I just snapped. I brought her around my family, and I wasn't going to let anyone start talking smack about their very serious case when the rest of us are all being so respectful to what their family is going through. At this point what Jim said is a game of telephone through Bobby and the twins, but I do want to be able to find out from Amber exactly what is going on.
I also wanted Nicole to be able to say whether or not Amber's rumor was true in front of everyone. I really like the twins and think they are good people. It just didn't feel right to have it out there and have people gossip about it.
And yes, Amber is my friend, so if she had truly said it to me in confidence, I wouldn't have stressed so much about wanting Nicole to be able to defend herself. I would have listened to Amber's gossip and just not spread it around. Obviously she wanted all of us (and all of you) to know, so there is a big difference. With that said, Amber wanted to play with the "big girls" and knew exactly what she was getting herself into. I have no doubt that she is also ready to come back and defend herself.
You'll just have to watch and see how it all plays out."
