Real Housewives of Auckland star Gilda Kirkpatrick and ACT Party leader David Seymour are the first contestants to be announced for New Zealand's edition of Dancing With The Stars, which is set to premiere later in the year on Three.
The competitive dancing show will be hosted by Sharyn Casey and Dai Henwood.
Kirkpatrick says she's excited to get out of her comfort zone and add some ballroom dancing shoes to her extensive footwear collection.
"It seems like a great opportunity to learn how to dance from professionals - plus it's a great stage on which charities can benefit," she said. "I've never had any sort of dance instruction, so it's going to be a completely new experience for me."
The contestants were announced at a customer and media event held in Auckland on Thursday afternoon, where MediaWorks has also announced a new season of Married At First Sight NZ will return this year, reports NewsHub.
