Last week, Heather Thomson announced that she was leaving The Real Housewives of New York City after appearing on the show for three seasons. Now that there's an empty spot, Dorinda Medley thinks it would be a great idea if Monica Lewinsky would replace Thomson on the Bravo show's upcoming eighth season.
“Monica Lewinsky. Wouldn’t that be great?” Medley told Page Six at the BELLA New York and OK!TV party on Thursday.
During the seventh season's reunion special, Medley revealed that one of Clinton’s campaign workers told her that Hillary Clinton is a big fan of the show.
“Yes, can you believe that,” said Dorinda on “The Real Housewives of New York” reunion show last month. “‘Cause Richard [Medley’s deceased husband] used to work on [Bill Clinton’s ] campaign, so I got a call from one of the people who work on it and they said, ‘You know I just want to tell you that Hillary really enjoys you on the show’ … I didn’t even know what to say.”
Medley’s late husband was at one point the chief economist for the U.S. House Banking committee and the couple reportedly helped fundraise with the Clintons.
As for Thomson’s departure from the Bravo reality show, Medley hinted that viewers haven’t seen the last of the Yummie Tummie founder.
“The nice thing is that it was her choice,” Medley said. “You know, she’s got a lot going on in her life with her kids and she runs a big company. I think Heather is the type of person, she does it and if it doesn’t work with her or for her anymore she would rather leave than ask her to leave.”
