Over the weekend, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the 2016 National Race to End Women's Cancer event. In between the 5K race, the mother-of-two was honored with a special award.
E! News reported that Camille received the 2016 Public Service Award for her outstanding dedication as Chair of the National Race to End Women's Cancer.
"Honored to be given this award for Public Service. Past recipients were Barbara Walters, Larry King and others," she wrote on Twitter. "Thank you @GYNCancer and SGO."
She added, "The National Race to End Women's Cancer was a huge success today. Thank you all that joined us and donated @GYNCancer SGO."
For Camille, this cause is very personal as the proud mother was diagnosed with early stage endometrial cancer in 2013. She underwent a radical hysterectomy, which ultimately allowed her to thrive and recover.
Since then, the Bravo star has made it her mission to help find a cure and help those suffering from the illness.
"Loved celebrating this day with amazing oncologists, friends, family and executive director Karen Carlson," she wrote on Instagram from Freedom Plaza. "National Race to End Women's Cancer. @foundationforwomenscancer endwomenscancer.org #loveyourladyparts #cancer #cancerawareness."
Congrats Camille!
