Kim Fields shocked fans when she made her reality television debut as one of the cast members of The Real Housewives of Atlanta during the show's eighth season. The legendary television actress only appeared in one season and now the former Facts of Life actress reveals the reason why she decided to walked away from the Bravo hit reality series.
The former Living Single actress voluntarily left the drama and decided not to return for the show's ninth season. Many believe it was mainly due to other “housewives” implying Kim’s husband Chris Morgan is gay, which could very well play a part. According to Wetpaint, however, Kim says she’s ultimately taking her mother’s advice.
"I'm done. I think about too, at the beginning of the season, what did my mama say? ‘Get in and get out.’ Listen to your mama,” she told Bustle.
Despite the drama, Fields claims to have enjoyed the experience and accomplished her ultimate goal on the show.
"It was to be able to do a genre that I’d been asked to do before and finding a way to do it that made sense for my team and for the family. Overall it was a really great experience."
Since leaving RHOA, Kim competed on Dancing with the Stars, and according to Atlanta’s MJAC, is working on a memoir that will "be a chronicle of living, learning, and ah-ha moments of self-discovery told with humor, transparency, and refreshing honesty by an inspiring woman who found faith at age 14 and has felt God alongside her through every chapter of her life."
